Curt reviewed the 2025 PPBA Impact and 2026 Vision.

2025 PPBA Impact: Top three were 1. Community engagement/membership growth.  2. Correcting business arrow signs. 3. Website revitalization.

2026 PPBA Focuses are: Top three are: 1. Continue to update and improve signage. 2. Continue to improve Website. 3. Development of a strategic budget framework.

Update and Improve Signage – Sign Committee for the Business Arrow and Welcome signs was created.  Keith, Roger, and Curt volunteered to serve.

Welcome Sign-Keith contacted the landowners where the Welcome sign is located, and they agreed with an update to the sign.  It may need to move due to WPS box next to it. Keith would like to remove current landscaping and put in retaining wall and landscape.  Keith would like to scrape and get it ready to be repainted.  Kori from Bigfoot has designs to put on the sign

Other volunteers have submitted other painted designs (Rochelle Thompson).

Current cost projection: $3560.00 (Wolf River doing all of the job)

Volunteer work would lower this price.  Fundraising will mitigate cost.  Keith has $500 additional fundraising to help PPBA.  Volunteers would like to help with planting deer resistant plants.  Perennial plant donations will be accepted.

Arrow signs – need to be updated.  Any requests that haven’t been honored should be corrected as quickly as possible. Any old requests should be brought to the attention of the sign committee.

Keith suggested we consider paying someone to put signs up and maintain signs for the PPBA.

Website revitalization – Natasha reviewed the website and how to order additional signs.

Website can now be used renew membership and pay dues.

Development of a strategic budget framework- Increase transparency by posting financial reports to the PPBA website, for those unable to attend meetings. Focus on building a budget aligned with goals.

Elections for Treasurer (Val) and Secretary (Margaret) (2 Yr Term 2026 – 2028)

Nomination for Margaret as Secretary was made by Amy, seconded by Curt.  Nomination was approved.

Nomination for Val as Treasurer was made by Roger, seconded by Rae.  Nomination was approved.

Pickerel Family Fest – The next Family Fest committee planning meeting is 4/27/26 at Maplewood Golf Course at 6pm.

PPBA Golf Outing 7/26– We need to send out hole sponsor letters by 3rd week in May.  Discussion of making hole sponsor sign a little nicer.  Prices for hole sponsor will increase from $50 to $75.  Wine sponsor price will stay at $100.  A new hole and wine sponsor bundle will be offered for $150.  Approximately 160 request letters will be sent out.  Brandon can fold letters ahead of time.

Mary and Brandon will assist with stuffing envelopes at Crane Lake Coffee 5/19 10am.

Strategic Project: Directional Arrow Business Signs

Curt proposed changing policy so that membership includes name on Pike 55 Sign & One Arrow Sign. All current posted arrow signs would be grandfathered (no additional cost).  Any new or replacement signs would be paid for by the requested member at the price we pay, which is $65/each. Aligns with more of a user-based fee as opposed to spreading costs among total membership. After discussion, no decision was reached. Discussion will continue at next meeting.

Next meeting: 6/15 at Pickerel Point Resort at 6pm

Topics introduced to be discussed at next meeting

Gift Certificates – Discuss Benefits & Decide if Program should continue.
