9:02am Meeting called to order by Curt.
Secretary’s Report:
Minutes from March 10 and April 15 meeting reviewed. Motion to approve the minutes by Alan, seconded by Mary. Motion passed.
In the near term, Brandon will continue to maintain and improve the PPBA website. Discussion of a goal of having members update information and pay dues through the website. Creighton to contact person to determine if interested in taking over website management for Brandon.
Brandon to provide Andrew administration authority to help update and post on the PPBA Facebook page.
Meetings can be added to Google calendar via Brandon and then posted on the PPBA website.
Treasurer’s Report:
Val plans to be added to accounts at CoVantage this week.

Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report by Mary, seconded by Creighton. Motion passed.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2025: Costs from Langlade County are $989.06
Funds to pay this are:
PPBA contribution: $300.00
Maplewood Donation: $100.00
Donations from Floats: $165.00
Andrew volunteered to pay the balance of $424.06
Motion for the PPBA to collect these funds and pay the bill was proposed by Val, seconded by Alan. Motion passed.
St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2026: After much discussion, Dave declined offer of PPBA co-sponsoring the parade. Country Inn will continue as the sponsor and will be responsible to remit payment to Langlade County Highway Dept. PPBA will the determine amount to be contributed towards the 2026 parade at the next meeting. PPBA will then issue a check to Country Inn and they will be responsible for paying the Langlade County Highway Department.
Arrow Signs: Our work date was scheduled but postponed due to weather. Creighton, Curt and Andrew volunteered to help Brandon with taking down non-member signs and adding new arrowed signs and headers where required. During the next week, Brandon will communicate plan to those involved to do on their schedule. Dave has many old arrows in his shed.
16th Annual PPBA Golf Outing:
Date is Monday 7/28/25. Andrew will sponsor a $10,000.00 Hole in One. Rae would like to sponsor a hole with a game to play. Amy will contact hole sponsors to see if they would like to provide representation on their hole. Letters were mailed out to encourage donations and we currently have 7-hole sponsors and 1 wine sponsor.
The process to buy, sell, and redeem PPBA Gift Certificates was reviewed. PPBA will limit the number of businesses selling certificates. After Business sells a gift certificate they will turn in the gift certificate stub and payment to PPBA. Once a customer redeems a gift certificate at a business, the business in turn submits the gift certificate to PPBA for reimbursement. Gift certificates expire after one year. Val to review gift certificate account and identify value of gift certificates over two years old. A suggestion was also made to only sell gift certificates in $20.00-$25.00 amounts.
Change to Bylaws and Officer terms: Curt suggested changing officers’ terms from one to two years and staggering the terms to prevent four new officers in one year. Motion was put forward to elect Secretary and Treasurer on even years and President and Vice President on odd years. Motion proposed by Kay, seconded by Alan. Motion passed.
The PPBA was approached by the Tombstone Pickerel Snowmobile Club to buys four signs for the lake to be displayed during snowmobile season. The cost is $30 per sign ($120) There was discussion that all the businesses on the signs should be both PPBA members and TPSC pitstops. Kay and Margaret to verify respective memberships and if not they will contact the business and advise the business they must be a member of both organizations to be included on the signs. Once completed list has been verified it will be forwarded to Dan Wellhouse to have signs made. Motion proposed by Alan, seconded by Dave. Motion passed.
Informational update – 2026 Pickerel Family Fest: This is festival planned by the Lions Club but hoping to involve many business and organizations in Pickerel-Pearson. Planning Committee has set a date for the Family Fest of Sunday July 19, 2026. Next Planning meeting will be 7/14 at 6 pm at Maplewood Golf Course.
2026 Dues will be due by the October quarterly meeting. Brandon will work on having dues accepted electronically on website.
Next Quarterly PPBA meeting will be held on 10/20/25 at 6 pm at Longshots. There will be a social immediately following the meeting. No socials will be held during the summer months.
