Secretary’s Report:
Minutes from June 16 reviewed. Motion to approve the minutes by Creighton, seconded by Mary. Motion passed.
Treasurer’s Report:

Motion to approve Treasurer’s Report by Mary, seconded by Keith. Motion passed.
Old Business
- Website
Website has been updated to reflect all current members and removed former members.
Creighton will be contacting a potential new manager for the website.
- Arrow Signs Progress
Skot volunteered his services to clean up around signs. A map of signs need to be made available for volunteers to work on them.
- Golf Outing 7/28
The Golf Outing made close to $2000 this year. Several members expressed that we need more participation (more golfers) in next year’s event. More donations from PPBA members are also needed in the form of raffle baskets. The PPBA also needs to do more advertising for the event to get word out and increase participation.
The lead to a discussion about the need for the PPBA website to have an updated calendar.
- Snowmobile Trail Signs
Businesses for the Pickerel Lake signs have been updated and verified. Dan Wellhouse will be making 4 signs with the following businesses listed: 2 Lakes Bar and Lodge, Campfire, Pickerel Point, Country Inn, Pickerel BP, Pine Grove Pub, Final Lap, Spencer’s, Motor Sports, Crane Lake Coffee, Longshots Smokehouse. Dan will get the invoice to Val for payment.
New Business
- 2026 Pickerel Family Fest
Laura Albright gave an update on planning for the Family Fest. The event will be held on Sunday July 19, 2026, 11am-4pm. Businesses can sponsor the event at various levels. Businesses can also set up informational or vendor tables at the event.
- 2026 Planning & Due Dates (Membership Applications/Posters)
Dues will continue to be $75 a year. Dues were supposed to be due at the October meeting but will now be due by the January meeting. A letter and email will be sent out soon with information. Margaret will contact the Antigo Chamber of Commerce to get a proof of the PPBA page and map. This will be emailed to all members to be sure all information is correct. The 2026 PPBA poster will also be updated by the January meeting for printing with Clermont.
- Discuss and Finalize Next Business Meeting Date and Location
Next Meeting will be held Tuesday January 20, 2026, at Campfire at 6pm.
- Other Comments
Keith proposed the idea of fundraising throughout the year. The money raised would be used to update and improve Pickerel. More events encourage and bring more people to the area. The PPBA has a raffle license to use for future events.
There was more discussion of the need to re-vamp the PPBA website. A motion was made to form a website committee and authorize it to spend up to $500 to remake the PPBA website. Motion made by Margaret, seconded by Skot. Motion passed. Committee of Keith, Creighton, and Skot was formed to rebuild and find a new website manager.
